Grid Coverage

A family of mechanisms in which players cover a grid or fill a space using a variety of shapes, such as Components: Polyominoes. This includes the coverage of areas defined (by shape or color) on the board itself with pieces or tiles. This challenges players to use shapes efficiently.

Chaining

1) Pieces are stationary but are built out in chains. This can give a dynamic sense of motion to the game, even though the pieces do not move.

2) One action leads to another action, resulting in a chain reaction of moves.

Automatic Resource Growth

The automatic increase of a resource triggered by a particular, conditional, deterministic (not random) game state.
