Special Effects on Cards
1) Great Responsibility: Rescue up to 3 Civilians in your Location. For each Civilian rescued with this Special Effect, gain 1 Attack token.
“Great Responsibility” delivers a great one-two punch. You may rescue up to 3 Civilians in your Location (which can be added to the mission if it hasn’t already been completed), and then gain the same number of Attack tokens equal to the Civilians rescued.
One Move accompanies all of Spider-Man’s special effects, so Peter can choose to move and then use his effect or use his effect and then move.
“Great Responsibility” is a fantastic ability. All the Civilians Spider-Man rescues must be at the same Location, but the Attack tokens he gains can be banked for use later. Spider-Man can also ignore the Heroics requirements for rescuing Civilians (some villain effect increase the number of Heroics required to rescue a Civilian); Spider-Man rescues up to 3 Civilians in his Location regardless of the Heroics requirement.
2) Great Power: Three Attack. For each Thug defeated with this Special Effect, gain 1 Heroics token.
“Great Power” is the reverse of “Great Responsibility.” Peter deals Three Attack at his Location and then gains Heroics tokens for each Thug defeated with “Great Power.”
One Move accompanies all of Spider-Man’s special effects, so Peter can choose to move and then use his effect or use his effect and then move.
Like “Great Responsibility,” “Great Power” is powerful. All the Thugs Spider-Man defeats must be at his Location, but the Heroics tokens Peter gains this way can be banked for the future.
3) Webslinging: Gain 2 Move tokens.
Simple but effect. Spider-Man gains 2 Move tokens. “Webslinging” completes Spider-Man’s three abilities. This token generation makes Spider-Man one of the most versatile Heroes.

Overview
Spider-Man has a lot of utility. He sports a little less than average Heroics and Attack, but his abilities “Great Power” and “Great Responsibility” can more than make up for this shortcoming. He also has one of the highest Move scores in Marvel United’s first wave. And he still has an average amount of Wild symbols. Spider-Man works against most Villains.

Good Teammates
Spider-Man has a lot of Move, and just in case his “Great Power” and “Great Responsibility” effects get used sub optimally (the board may not cooperate), you may want to pair him with Heroes who could pick up the slack in both Heroics and Attack. There are countless options if you choose this direction. (Captain America is a great option from the core set if you only have one Hero you’re adding.)
Or you could lean heavier toward Heroics or Attack, depending on which Villain you’re facing. Henchmen, high Villain health, and a lot of Thugs need Attack. Clearing other Threat cards and rescuing a heap of Civilians requires Heroics.
