Special Effects on Cards

1) Webweaver: Swap two Threat cards in play.

“Webweaver” has an interesting effect that can work well against the villain included in the Enter the Spider-Verse expansion (Green Goblin). Keep in mind that the two Threat cards need to be “in play.” You cannot replace a Threat card with one that has already been cleared or as in the case of Green Goblin, one that is still a part of the facedown Threat deck.

This ability has a lot of utility as so many henchmen deal damage whenever the main villain uses their BAM! effect. Players can group those Threats together. Or they rearrange Threat cards in a way that can facilitate clearing them, moving Threat cards with clear requirements players may have in their hands closer to the Heroes.

2) Webdancer: You cannot take any damage until the beginning of your next turn.

“Webdancer” is like Wasp and Ant-Man’s “Shrink” ability. Damage can come from a lot of different sources in between turns and it’s a nice ability to have.

3) Acrobatic Fighting: Defeat all Thugs in your Location.

“Acrobatic Fighting” is a great ability for a Location filled with Thugs. Another Attack accompanies this effect, so you will most likely need the player before you to play a Move symbol because a printed action can be performed before or after you use symbols. If the player before you played a Move, you’ll be able to use the Attack on a different target than the Thugs you can defeat on a Location.

Note: This ability says to “defeat all Thugs,” so it doesn’t matter how much Attack is needed to defeat a Thug (some Threat cards can increase a Thug’s health), you defeat all Thugs.

Overview

Ghost-Spider specializes in Heroics and Move. Her “Acrobatic Fighting” can go a long way to make up for lower Attack, but it’s very specific and only does well if there’s a Location with a lot of Thugs. She may need to be teamed up with someone with a lot of Attack. She’s best against a villain with a lot of Threat cards that require Heroics to clear and with rescuing Civilians.

Good Teammates

Miles Morales and Spider-Ham (also from the Enter the Spider-Verse expansion) are good teammates, and you could also try using Hulk, Black Widow, or Iron Man from the core set.
